Pattern Mixing

My current obsession is mixing bright, bold patterns! I love color, texture, and changing things up, so pillow updates are kind of my thing. I generally invest in well-made core furniture pieces (cream sofa, leather chair, etc.) so that I can periodically update without breaking the bank. I've had the black and white down-filled rocker for years, but it has never found a true place in our home because I was so worried it didn't "match." It is so dang comfy that we just left it in the room upon moving, and it seems to work. Everyone argues about who gets to sit in that chair! (Michael wins if he is home.) I wanted to add a fun chair to the mix, and we got a pretty sweet deal on the floral chair pictured. Don't be afraid to just mix patterns and colors to create a space you love!

To answer questions about where to shop: My go to for most of the pillows in this room was Target. The majority are Opal House by Target, which is basically exactly my style. I am OBSESSED with all things Opal House! We’ve had the leather chair for a long time, but my sofa is from Down to Earth, a home furnishings store located in Gardner Village in West Jordan, Utah. I have gotten so many great things from them, and their sister store CF Home Furniture & Design. The long sofa table by the windows is also from Down to Earth, and the comfy rocker is from CF Home. Lots of decorative trinkets, wall art, and seasonal decor in our home come from these two stores as well. My end tables, as well as most of the wood furniture in this main areaof our home, are from Joanna Gaines collaboration with Furniture Row called Magnolia Home. It’s affordable and on trend, but it’s also well-made and timeless. Igot my fluffy white rug at The Home Depot! It’s been easy to keep clean, despite potty training a Frenchie. Last, do you spy the barstool with a tray on it? I was out of money and needed another little end table. I had these adorable blue barstools (Amazon) from our last home that didn’t work at the bar anymore. So, I turned one into a side table. The other three are subbingin as little tables throughout the house. Make use of what you have!

I’ll move through the house, but let me know if there’ssomething specific you’d love me to talk about.
